That I would be unable to move the next day. The thought after that was that I was lucky I hadn't died during the first session, or passed out. I did feel that long term Bikram would be much more valuable to me than Ashtanga Yoga. I liked the physical challenge and the 90 minutes of sweating.

Note: I didn't feel bad at all the next day and I had the feeling that I had done something great for my body.

I care about my health and my body (you only get one).

More flexibility and strength.

Rabbit - it's the only one that I can come close to doing correctly. Plus that stretch is awesome.

Yoga: Balance and tight hamstrings. I really wish I could sit on my heels or possibly get my bum on the floor.

Me: Staying focused. Plus keeping my knee from collapsing.

Don't worry about not being able to do the postures or feeling that you are not as good as the others in class. You are there for yourself not for anyone else. Keep coming back and you will find that the postures can really help you on many levels, such as strengthening, endurance building and most importantly (to me now) focus.

After some time, when you've sort of figured out the postures and how your body adapts to them, there comes a sense of accomplishment. Today many of us are part of a process; we rarely see the beginning or the end. Staying with yoga can bring that sense of "I started it, I'm in charge it and I've earned the results".
