| I enjoyed the heat and humidity I felt inflexible and uncoordinated. I wanted to come back for more. |
I told myself I was using my body as a science experiment to see what would happen to my body if I stayed consistent with my yoga practice. The heat and humidity keep me coming back. I love to sweat and I feel that Bikram Yoga is a total body workout all in 90 minutes!

I have been able to maintain my weight. I feel generally in the best shape I have ever been in. Stronger upper body and arms. My back flexiblity is better. I feel like I know what good posture should feel like, how to align my body.

Currently my favorite is half tortoise, because even though my hips have to be raised to get my forhead to the floor, I can feel the stretch in my sholders and continually work on visualizing my vertbrae stretching in opposite directions.

Staying with it. I have never had an exercise program that I have stuck with. This is my 10th month - my goal of coming at least 3x a week. I feel very inflexible and it is challenging to see small areas of improvement.

Keep coming back! At least try it for 2 weeks to work through the issues of the heat etc. - and get rd of your cotton clothes.

I have never taken a yoga class before. I really love how Bikram Yoga has all areas of the body included in the 26 postures. It works on strength, conditioning, balance, focus etc. When I first started I kept hearing it was good for the cardiovascular system, I was abit skeptical about that, but as a sports official I found myself in thebest physical shape of my life and am able to keep up with my games!
Also, Nicole will say,"You've just finished 90 minutes of meditation." I wondered how it was meditation. I practiced focusing on the dialogue and pushing everythign else out of my brain, focing me to stay in the moment, focusing on my breathing. It has taken a while but usually I feel very present during class.
All in all, as a 48 year old woman, I feel in the best shape of my life. While I may never be able to "put my forehead on my toes," I feel stronger. I can see muscles in my arms and legs. I love to sweat it feels purifying and cleansing from the inside out! After class, I experience what I call "post-yoga haze" not low energy or high energy, just kind of "floaty." I love it!
