After your first Bikram class, what was your impression? |
What drives you to continue to practice? What keeps bringing you back? |
Having been a runner for most of my life, I wanted to try another form of exercise to counteract and balance out the type of movement and strength that running requires. I had tried different forms of yoga and became impatient with them. I tried Bikram once and was hooked.
I try to attend class three times a week, interspersing it with my running. It is absolutely transformative both physically and emotionally. I am someone that has suffered from panic attacks and extreme anxiety, both of these have become almost non-existent since starting my practice. Physically, I feel stronger and more confident in what my body can do.

What are some of the benefits and changes you've seen in yourself?
What is your favorite posture in the series and why? |
I have become a much calmer, patient person. I take care of myself more in general. I am happier.
I LOVE Camel!
What is your greatest challenge about the yoga? Yourself? |
What advice can you give to a 1st timer after they complete the class? |
The greatest challenge is working with my lack of flexibility. There are some postures that improvement comes very slowly.
Keep coming back. Don't be afraid of it. Slowly postures you did not understand one day will click and make more sense the next.
Is there anything you would like to add? |
To reiterate myself, I have never been such a fanatic for something! It is transformative and the benefits cannot be beat. I have converted two friends already!
