After your first Bikram class, what was your impression? |
What drives you to continue to practice? What keeps bringing you back? |
|
I felt uncoordinated and inflexible, but wanted to come back for more. I enjoyed the heat and humidity. |
I feel that 90 minutes of Bikram yoga is a complete exercise program for me. Not being a "gym" person, Bikram gives me a total body workout, from head to toe. The heat keeps bringing me back. I love the sweat, it keeps me in the moment feeling each drip! |
What are some of the benefits and changes you've seen in yourself?
|
What is your favorite posture in the series and why? |
|
When I practice regularly I am able to maintain the weight that I want. I feel my core muscles are stronger. My last physical my cholesterol numbers had dropped by 30 points! As a sports official I am able to handle tense situations by breathing and thinking about yoga! |
Half toroise is my favorite posture at the moment even though I am unable to put my hips down or my forehead to the floor, I enjoy the stretching feeling in my back and shoulders. |
What is your greatest challenge about the yoga? Yourself? |
What advice can you give to a 1st timer after they complete the class? |
|
Greatest challenge sometimes in getting to class. Once I am there I'm delighted. I have never done any specific exercise regulary so my challenge has been to keep Bikram in my life. |
Keep coming back! |
Is there anything you would like to add? |

March was "don't fall out of standing bow month". It was also my Bikram anniversary. I have been practicing Bikram for 3 years!!(in celebration, I bought myself a yogitoes mat, I love it). I can't say enough about what this yoga has brought to my life. I was a skeptic when I started, not believing in the cardiovascular benefits etc. I am 50 years old and in the best shape of my life. The 90 minutes of "moving meditation" listening to what each instructor brings to the class has been so valuable to me. I went thru breast cancer surgery and treatment last summer. I could not have done as well coming back from all that if I had not been practicing Bikram yoga. The support I felt from the teachers and students was invaluable. Need I say more? I love it! |
