After your first Bikram class, what was your impression? |
What drives you to continue to practice? What keeps bringing you back? |
|
My first impression was, wow it is hot in there and I should have listened and drank more water than I did. The poses became doubly hard halfway through the practice all the way to the end because of the sweat and my concentration was faltering and I was very tired but I fought nausea and fatigue and forced myself to concentrate and to not walk out. I sure am glad I did. |
The challenge of doing a pose and getting it right and the promise of what my body could do that is beyond my wildest imagination and my own expectation is enough to keep me coming back and continue to practice. |
What are some of the benefits and changes you've seen in yourself?
|
What is your favorite posture in the series and why? |
|
I seem to have more energy and my skin looks and feel smoother and my friends said that my skin is glowing. Also, after each class I feel so refreshed that I feel like I could almost start another 8 hour work day at 8PM. |
Savasana "Dead Body Pose". It is the pose that allows me to recharge and face the challenge of the next pose. |
What is your greatest challenge about the yoga? Yourself? |
What advice can you give to a 1st timer after they complete the class? |
|
In yoga, my greatest challenge is everything, specially the breathing part. I sometimes concentrate so much on the pose that I forget to breathe. Sometimes when I hear the instructor say "don't forget to breathe", I catch myself holding my breath through the pose. In myself, my biggest challenge is how to relax. I don't always find enough time for myself or for relaxation. That is one of the reason I joined Bikram Yoga, to do something for me and my physical and mental being. |
Just remember that if you give up now, you will never know if it really works or not. Keep coming back and again, never give up.

Is there anything you would like to add? |
|

Bikram is an experience that everyone should try more than once or twice. I am glad a friend of mine recommended that I try Yoga at Bikram. It is an amazing experience. I know I'm hooked after just 3 classes. |
