Sara Curry: Studio Owner

Sara found her way to Bikram yoga after years of rugby, weightlifting and running left her with two herniated discs and debilitating back pain.  Faced with a choice from her doctors between surgery and a lifetime of cortisone shots, Sara chose Bikram yoga instead.  With just the 26 postures, she was able to return to a pain-free life.  She has been inspired by her own recovery to share this healing, truly-amazing series and not just because she can now tie her own shoes.

The final frontier for back pain was pregnancy.  In 2006, Sara completed the pregnancy, labor and recovery with no back pain: a testimonial to a regular yoga practice.  Fifteen minutes of pushing wasn't bad, either.  Read her pregnancy blog for more information.

Prior to attending the Bikram Yoga teacher training in Spring 2003, Sara worked for years in Special Education with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities.  She continues to work to connect adults with disabilities to yoga on the Seacoast.
